Cookin' (Odd Musings)
I'm thinking of starting up a new hobby. Cooking! I've heard that cooking and eating really curb those hunger pangs I usually start getting once I get home from work.
I have quite an aversion to cooking. I'm not sure why... maybe because it's boring. It's also difficult to cook for one person (meat dishes anyway) because so much goes to waste. I know Dave wishes I would cook more, and he also wishes we ate more variety in general, but I've not yet seen him come to me with a recipe to try.
So my plea to you all: Any cookbook recommendations? Preferably with vivid pictures. Dave got the Essential Vegetarian Cookbook for Christmas once, but it has no pictures! Not even one! How am I supposed to get excited about Zucchini Passata without a photo of it?? Crock pot recipies would also be a big hit :-)

Not that *I* should be giving advice about cooking.
But have you seen allrecipes.com? What I like about it is how everyone rates the recipes 1-5 stars just like on amazon. And chimes in with their own person variations they like to make.

I have to give a big recommendation to Cooking Light magazine. Just made my mom a dinner consisting of recipies from a few issues - they're generally very easy and tasty (with good pics, too!). Their web site is good as well.
