I Need A Name Over Here! (Mosaics)
I'm submitting this mosaic to the Society of American Mosaic Artist's little gig in SF in January. I have a few questions for you all.
One: The "entry guidelines" say that "entries must be original in design." The actual "design" I guess was taken from a book. But the colors and tile placement was of my choosing. Does this count as original? Even if not, I might just chance it that the jurors won't remember seeing such a design in a book somewhere :)
Two: I need a title! I'm TERRIBLE at titles. I'm especially looking over and batting my eyelashes at Yosha and Dave, who have a remarkable ability to string words together. Of course, anyone is more than welcome to suggest a title.
Three: Pray! The only thing I can submit is a color slide of it. I bought a 35mm camera and some slide film and every picture came out bad bad bad. I found a place on the web that will change digital images into slides, so pray to whatever you pray to that I did it correctly and it will come back in time for me to send it out!! It needs to get there by October 1st. This mosaic being accepted would really just make me very happy.
That is all. Start title-ing!

Ice cream flower box? (Mosaics)
I thought I'd post some "in progress" pictures of the flower box mosaic I'm doing. This box is to go over the railing that is at the front door. My wonderfully woodsy friend Sandy made it for me. As for the pictures of ice cream... what can I say? I was in the mood to mosaic ice cream. Does it really matter that it's on a flower box?

Behold! Here's a mosaic I recently finished. Whew :-) This goes with the K.

And here's the last one I made for K & C. It's a Celtic design that C picked out. Both of these were made with polymer clay miniature tiles. All tiles were just 4mm square and the combination of the 3 mosaics are comprised of thousands of them.

Sun and Moon (Mosaics)
The only mosaic that I've kept! Substrate is de-corked corkboard (sealed with polyurethane), tesserae, my first time using vitreous glass tile (Bisazza). |

Made for my newly married friends, Caryn and Kevin. Caryn picked out their first initials and a celtic design. This is the "K" obviously, "C" and the other design to follow. Substrate is a frame, tesserae are mini polymer clay tiles. Cut like butter :-) |

Pink Panther (Mosaics)
My first mosaic ever! Made for my dad, who is a Pink Panther fan. The substrate is stepping stone mix, and the tesserae is ceramic tile and a pink mug from Wal-Mart. :-) |
